Good question. We should be careful we evaluate the integrity of the causes we promote, especially those with corporate sponsors. This is crucial when deciding where to contribute time and resources (in this case web space). Lets give some reasons why we decided to post this article:
1- Originality: Empower girls = change the world (parsimonious + non-traditional = we like it)
2- It’s fun
3- Uses undisputed info (the way it’s presented may be up for discussion but we need some solid links as to how presenting “girls” as the cure-all creates the Machiavellian scenario)
So in general, we like the ad. Girls should be empowered. Not so they can work in sweatshops. We don’t let sponsors off the hook just because they get behind an idea– any idea. This idea would be just as powerful without the sponsors. Thanks for the comment, we’re heading back over to reexamine this campaign and you should too!

Isn’t this NIKE company propaganda, masquerading as something “good”?
They run sweatshops. The means are not a justification for the ends.
