I’ve been consumed the last few weeks with hosting the Bangkok Twestival celebration (see Twestival, Fusing Social Media With Global Change for more on this event). Feels great to raise money for charity in conjuction with so many other cities around the world, but YES–it was exhausting.
Here’s a special thank you from Baan Dada orphanage in Sangklaburi, Thailand.
To fundraise in Bangkok we threw a big party with over three hundred attendees. This was the work of over thirty volunteers. Thanks to Mark and Emily from Digital Democracy who made the following video so you could see what the party was like:
The result of our twitter-festival?
A $600 donation to Baan Dada and $600 to Baan Unrak orphanages.
$380 for carbon offsetting.
That’s a total $1572 for good.
THANK YOU!
There are more cool photos from the party and the orphanages available in the ISOS facebook group.

Dwight,
It looks like you’ve been up to doing some great work. Awesome stuff you’ve been doing, and continue doing it! Congratulations on raising that money and making an impact. Best wishes.
You guys are doing amazing work for these children. I wish I could be there in person– I envious just viewing the videos and pictures on FB. We are wondering how we can become supporters ——————>>>>>>>>>
for these causes other than donating $$ directly for these children.
Thanks everyone. I know I’ve dropped off the blogging map lately. I will try and make up for that. This was a really big project and so many things got eclipsed while I was working on this. I haven’t forgotten you all. I have a lot more to report!
ISOS relies 100% on the generous donations of our supporters. Even a small donation can go a long ways to make a difference here in Bangkok and throughout Thailand. Make a quick donation through PayPal below or see our Donation page to make a recurring payment. Thank you!

Was just looking back at this. What a great time. So much work, but the payoff was worth it. More good things to come.
