Using the Thai word for FUN or “SANUK,” we tackle social good by doing TWO important things: Fun & Food

Foodlanthropy. Mixing the love for food and the desire to give back we frequently give an opportunity for food lovers to contribute to our work in the community.

For example, attending one of our food fundraisers helps us give stipends to twelve families who use the money to pay rent, buy food, and other essentials.

In addition to rent and food stipends for poor families, we’re sponsoring a safe house for women in 2013. The women this home shelters have been victims of trafficking, and abandonment. We hope to help rehabilitate a few of the women in the house by giving them culinary training and the support they need to thrive in a job or start their own business.

These are realistic, but ambitious goals and we’ll need your support to make them happen!

One way to help is by joining our semi-annual charity feasting market called Big Bite Bangkok.

Another way to show your support is to donate a meal monthly, by setting up a $10 or $25 recurring donation (about the cost of one nice meal).

In the future we’ll also be looking to partner with restaurants, chefs, hotels and others in the food industry to strengthen our effort. Please contact dwight [at] bkkfatty.com if you’re interested in supporting our project.
